Students enrolled in the new Digital Retailing Digital eCommerce Fulfillment course this semester had the opportunity to tour Home Depot's massive new fulfillment center located in Grand Prairie, Texas. The center is 100% dedicated to servicing online orders. 

On the tour, students saw many types of technology, including a machine that builds a box to product specifications, cutting down waste by minimizing use of cardboard and packaging materials. They were also interested to learn about the active recycling programs in the facility, including that of old appliances such as refridgerators and a unique machine that crushes and compresses syrofoam into 90 lb. logs.

The students gained invaluable insights into behind-the-scenes operations that are necessary to deliver a seamless eCommerce experience to customers.
