2021 Student Research Symposium a Huge Success to Showcase Projects

2021 GDRRC Student Research Symposium

Like every other event during the past twelve months, our 16th Annual 2021 Student Research Symposium again went virtual, enabling our students who'd worked hard over the last year the opportunity to showcase their work. Now that many have adapated and gotten used to this format, the event was well attended and a huge success.

There were 11 participating students and student teams that recorded their presentations for judging. This was intended to simulate the approach they would take if they were presenting in an in-person judging competition. Once all videos were submitted, the CMHT Research Committee, led by committee chair Dr. Daniel Spears, selected the top research projects. Students, faculty, invited guests and administrators were invited to the award presentation, held during the online event April 7, 2021. Winners were announced and presented certificates.

The winning researchers were:

Millicent Njeri - Best Doctoral Research Award

Grace Gunnin - Best Research Award - Category 1

Bayan Sindi - Best Reasearch Award - Category 2

Mei May Chen - Best Research Award - Category 3

Fangyu Liu - Honorary Research Award - Category 1

Rebekah Huehnel, Megan Kelly, Agusta Shepard - Honorary Research Award - Category 2

Hannah Flynn - Honorary Research Award - Category 3

Congratulations to all of our students!
