The pop star Madonna was the undisputed master of reinventing herself contantly throughout the 80's and 90's. Many current musicians credit their style inspiration to her. Her ability to change and adapt just ahead of waning popularity could seem unchoreographed and lucky to the casual observer. It's fascinating to observe that pattern, just as one trend hit the downside of a bell curve, Madonna seemed out in front with a new look and persona, gaining yet another dose of media attention. And all of this was pre-internet.  Her skilled ability to set trends became unrivaled in the music circles. Could this have been all by chance?  Of course not. With her keen insight, observation of changing consumer behavior and trends, along with many people assisting, she was able to stay on top far longer than almost any popular music star. Madonna undeniably mastered the ability to virtually change herself overnight, managing to stay well ahead of the curve.
